However, a large volume of rejected mangoes that do not meet market standards leads to environmental problems due to fruit spoilage. This study aims to identify solutions for processing rejected mangoes through community empowerment based on micro-enterprises. The methods employed include community service by university students (KKN) and training programs funded by the 2024 DRTPM PKM Grant and the 2025 Competitive Grant from Sangga Buana University. The training covered mango chip production, packaging, business administration, and marketing. The results indicate an increase in production capacity through the provision of equipment such as vacuum fryers, slicing machines, and storage facilities. Furthermore, active participation of local women’s groups in the production process increased significantly. The discussion focuses on community empowerment—particularly among women farmers—and the challenges in marketing, which still rely on conventional methods. Product development strategies involving digital marketing (e-commerce and village websites) and trademark registration show potential to expand market reach and strengthen local product identity. This program has had a positive impact on women's economic empowerment and has contributed to sustainable community welfare. In this context, strengthening MSMEs involves local entrepreneurs, village governments, and local communities, with the aim of increasing understanding and capabilities in running businesses that are oriented towards environmental sustainability. The training programme covers increasing awareness of environmentally friendly technology, sustainable business management plans, and the importance of cooperation in local economic development. For the research approach, a qualitative method with a case study design was used in Batusari Village, as this area has great potential in the SME sector that needs to be strengthened with environmentally friendly principles. The research results indicate that this training is effective in improving the management and technical skills of SME actors, as well as strengthening the relationship between business actors and the village government. These findings provide an important perspective for the development of more effective SME empowerment policies in other places, as well as encouraging the implementation of similar programmes that can support sustainable economic development in local communities.
Lathifa Prima Ghanistyana Ade Siti Khaeriah Copyright (c) 2025 lathifa Prima Ghanistyana, Ade Siti Khaeriah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-08-25 2025-08-25 5 3 249 260 10.37567/pkm.v5i3.4195 Pemberdayaan Komunitas Sekolah: Prioritas Masalah dan Peningkatan Pemahaman PHBS di SDN 16 Benteng Jaya http://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/pkm/article/view/4010
Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) among school-aged children in Indonesia faces significant challenges, as found: the low awareness of PHBS at SDN 16 Benteng Jaya, Batu Bara Regency. These issues are also encountered by the partner of this community engagement program, Dodol Al Arabi in Samarinda City, which has been operating conventionally without systematic financial recording, a written business plan, or digital-based promotional strategies. This program aims to strengthen the business capacity of the partner through the improvement of financial management and the optimization of digital marketing. The methods applied include socialization, training, workshops, individual mentoring, and evaluation. The interventions cover the implementation of a basic bookkeeping system, the development of a written business plan based on the Business Model Canvas (BMC), and assistance in utilizing digital media for product promotion. The results indicate that the partner is now able to conduct financial recording in a more systematic manner, calculate the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and design a more structured business plan. In addition, the partner has begun to utilize social media platforms for product promotion, although further mentoring is required to ensure consistency and professionalism. Overall, this program provides tangible contributions to strengthening the managerial and marketing capacity of the partner while potentially generating broader socio-economic impacts, such as the creation of new job opportunities, the reinforcement of local supply chains, and the preservation of Samarinda’s traditional culinary heritage. This program also offers novelty by integrating financial management strategies and digital marketing into real implementation at the micro-business level based on local products.
Indra Maulana Dedy Rahmatullah Mega Norsita Atiiqah Daffaa Siti Monashafa Copyright (c) 2025 Indra Maulana, Dedy Rahmatullah, Mega Norsita, Atiiqah Daffaa, Siti Monashafa https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-24 2025-09-24 5 3 283 292 10.37567/pkm.v5i3.4249 Penguatan Kapasitas Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) dalam Mengembangkan Ekowisata Berkelanjutan di Kepulauan Kabupaten Mempawah http://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/pkm/article/view/4290
Mempawah Regency has abundant marine tourism potential, especially on Datuk, Setinjan, and Temajo Islands, which can be a driver of economic growth for the local community. However, the utilization of this potential is still constrained by the limited managerial capacity of the Jejak Nusa Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), the lack of supporting facilities, and the weak marketing strategy. The Partnership Community Service (PKM) Activity, funded by the Directorate of Research and Community Service, Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, aims to strengthen the capacity of Pokdarwis through training, mentoring, and the application of technology and innovation to realize sustainable ecotourism. The implementation method is carried out in a participatory manner through five stages, namely socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability planning. Steps include preparing organizational work programs, providing business and financial management training, offering digital marketing assistance through blogs and social media, offering snorkeling facilities and underwater cameras, and facilitating cooperation with the village government and ship owners. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the aspects of organizational management, finance, and digital marketing of Pokdarwis. Additionally, the presence of new tourism facilities encourages the growth of tourist interest, increases the community's income potential, and fosters social solidarity and environmental awareness. Thus, this program has succeeded in creating an ecotourism-based community empowerment model that supports economic welfare while maintaining the sustainability of marine ecosystems.
Jumardi Budiman Okianna Okianna Sukal Minsas Iwan Kuncoro Copyright (c) 2025 Jumardi Budiman, Okianna Okianna, Sukal Minsas, Iwan Kuncoro https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-16 2025-10-16 5 3 293 308 10.37567/pkm.v5i3.4290 Implementasi Pendampingan Legalitas Usaha dan Sertifikasi Halal UMKM Desa Sukamantri untuk Peningkatan Daya Saing Ekonomi Lokal http://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/pkm/article/view/4305
The Community Service Program (KKN) of Cipasung University, Tasikmalaya, held in Sukamantri Village aims to increase the awareness and capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in ensuring business legality and halal certification. Each oil palm plantation has one or two ponds as a water source to prevent fires during the dry season. These ponds have not been optimally utilized. In fact, these ponds have great potential to be developed as freshwater fish farming locations, particularly catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus), which has high economic value. Lack of knowledge about cultivation among oil palm plantation communities has prevented these lands from being used for fish farming. Through the "Implementation of Science and Technology to the Community" program, a solution is offered in the form of utilizing ponds between oil palm fields for catfish cultivation using semi-intensive methods, along with providing training in good fish farming. Activities include outreach, technical training in pond management and fish farming, cultivation implementation, and evaluation of results. With the application of this simple technology, there has been an increase in community income, business diversification, and optimization of previously unproductive oil palm land.
Saifullah Saifullah Heriyansah Nur Istiqamah Copyright (c) 2025 Saifullah Saifullah, Heriyansah, Nur Istiqamah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-11-08 2025-11-08 5 3 343 354 10.37567/pkm.v5i3.4337 Pengembangan Media Ajar Simple Tenses Berbasis Flipbook Digital bagi Gramource English Community (GEC) http://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/pkm/article/view/4076
English proficiency, particularly in grammar, is a crucial aspect of global communication, especially in the context of flexible and independent learning. Gramource English Community (GEC), an English learning community focused on asynchronous grammar instruction through Google Classroom and Instagram, has faced challenges due to the lack of interactive learning media to support the teaching of tenses. In response to this issue, a community service team from the English Literature Department at Universitas Pamulang developed an interactive digital flipbook-based learning media covering three types of simple tenses: simple present, simple past, and simple future. This activity was carried out using the ADDIE development model, starting from partner needs analysis, material design, visual content development, to the implementation of the learning media on the community’s platforms. The flipbook was designed to be engaging, easy to understand, and supportive of flexible learning, featuring theoretical explanations, sentence examples, and interactive exercises. Implementation was done by integrating it into Google Classroom and promoting it via Instagram, reaching participants from diverse backgrounds. Validation results from experts and user testing indicated that the flipbook is effective in improving participants' understanding of tense usage and increasing their interest in learning through a visual and interactive approach. This program not only provides a concrete solution to the partner’s problem but also contributes positively to the students’ skills development in creating technology-based learning media. Therefore, this digital flipbook serves as an innovative and relevant alternative learning tool to support asynchronous grammar instruction in the digital era.
Bambang Irawan Mohammad Fajar Mediyawan Gintings Copyright (c) 2025 Bambang Irawan, Mohammad Fajar Mediyawan Gintings https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-11-08 2025-11-08 5 3 355 365 10.37567/pkm.v5i3.4076 Pemberdayaan Santriwati IMBS Miftahul Ulum Pekajangan dalam Mengolah Kunyit untuk Kesehatan Reproduksi dan Penguatan Karakter Mandiri Berbasis Nilai-Nilai Islam http://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/pkm/article/view/4338
Reproductive health is an essential aspect of maintaining the quality of life and well-being among young generations, particularly female students in Islamic boarding schools (santriwati). This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance reproductive health literacy based on Islamic herbal knowledge, develop practical skills in processing turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) as a natural remedy for menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea), and foster independent and religious character formation rooted in Islamic values. This study employed a field research method with a participatory approach, involving 30 female students aged 15–20 years from IMBS Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Pekajangan. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and pre-test–post-test assessments to evaluate changes in knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ literacy regarding turmeric’s bioactive compounds and their benefits for reproductive health (from 27% to 80%), skills in processing fresh turmeric slices into herbal beverages (from 23% to 83%), and integration of Islamic values in health awareness (from 30% to 87%). Furthermore, 90% of the participants reported that drinking turmeric infusion effectively helped reduce menstrual pain while strengthening their spiritual awareness that maintaining health is an act of worship and part of the maqashid al-syari‘ah principle of hifdz an-nafs (preserving life). This program demonstrates that the integration of modern health science, traditional herbal wisdom, and Islamic values is effective in strengthening students’ independence, self-awareness, and sustainable healthy behavior. The PKM model can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools as a holistic health education strategy grounded in Islamic principles, harmoniously combining science, spirituality, and practical skills.
Asfal Fuad Windha Widiastuti Tri Sakti Wirotomo Gigih Setianto Copyright (c) 2025 Asfal Fuad, Windha Widiastuti, Tri Sakti Wirotomo, Gigih Setianto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-11-14 2025-11-14 5 3 366 373 10.37567/pkm.v5i3.4338
