Therefore, a counseling approach is needed that not only addresses psychological aspects but also integrates Islamic spiritual values. This study aims to: (1) analyze the current condition of students’ academic anxiety, (2) develop an Islamic counseling model to address academic anxiety, (3) examine the feasibility of the developed model, and (4) test the effectiveness of the model in reducing students’ academic anxiety. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach, consisting of needs analysis, design, development, expert validation, limited trials, and effectiveness testing. The subjects of the study are Madrasah Aliyah students experiencing academic anxiety. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data analysis was conducted using both descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results indicate that: (1) students’ academic anxiety levels are in the moderate to high category, (2) the developed Islamic counseling model is based on values such as patience (sabr), trust in God (tawakkul), remembrance of God (dhikr), and self-reflection (muhasabah), (3) the model is considered feasible based on expert and practitioner evaluations, and (4) the Islamic counseling model is effective in significantly reducing students’ academic anxiety. Therefore, this model can serve as an alternative counseling service in Madrasah Aliyah to address students’ academic anxiety.
2026-07-10T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Junaedi Dwi Susanto
