Abstract
The antar pinang tradition in this study is part of a series of traditions in Sambas Malay weddings, one of which is in Tanjung Mekar Village. This tradition is one of the local cultures that contains the noble values of the Sambas people. The aim of the research is to describe the procession of carrying out the antar pinang tradition and the symbolic meaning of this tradition. The method used is the historical method, which includes four stages: heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The research results showed that the traditional antar pinang procession begins with the opening, handover of goods, and closing. Meanwhile, the symbolic meaning of antar pinang is represented in the form of delivery goods such as a piece of betel nut, betel leaves, betel nut, potpourri, paddy and rice, candlenuts, nails, a set of clothes, a set of cosmetics, and a set of bedding.
