The primary aim of this study is to identify the contributing factors of radicalism in multicultural societies and to formulate effective and applicable moderation strategies within the framework of the disruptive era. This study employs a qualitative method using a moderative, religious, and cross-cultural approach, guided by Creswell’s framework. Data sources include scholarly literature, government policy documents (e.g., from Kemenag and BNPT), and digital religious-cultural content from social media and online platforms. Data collection was conducted through document analysis and digital observation using purposive sampling to ensure relevance to issues of radicalism and moderation in Indonesia. The data were analyzed thematically, following Creswell’s steps: organizing data, reading for general meaning, coding, developing themes, interpreting findings, and presenting results. The findings reveal that radicalism arises from weak religious literacy, cultural exclusivism, and social inequality, all of which are exacerbated by digital disinformation. Effective moderation strategies must include strengthening multicultural education, promoting interfaith dialogue, involving local religious and cultural leaders, and utilizing digital media for tolerance and inclusivity campaigns. Academically, this study holds strong urgency in enriching scientific discourse on religion and cross-cultural understanding and radicalism and in developing a contextual interdisciplinary approach for fostering a peaceful society amid the challenges of globalization.
2025-10-12T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ecep Ishak Fariduddin, Ibnu Hajar, Khomisah Khomisahhttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4322Augmented Reality Adoption Readiness in Islamic Education2025-10-12T15:55:13+08:00Habib Rachman Wafiqhabibixb12@gmail.comPrawidya Lestariprawidyalestari@stainupwr.ac.idAsiyah Aksornyah_060242@hotmail.com
The integration of immersive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) presents unique opportunities and challenges for Islamic educational institutions. This research aims to fill this gap by conducting a multi-dimensional comparative analysis of AR adoption readiness at two Islamic educational institutions in Southeast Asia: MI Al Huda Kebonsari, Indonesia, and Chariyathamsuksa Foundation School, Thailand. Using a qualitative comparative case study approach, this study analyzes data from in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis through a multi-layered analytical framework comprising the Education Technology Readiness Index (ETRI) for institutional capacity (macro), the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) for behavioral drivers (meso), and the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) for psychological dispositions (micro). The results reveal two distinct readiness profiles: MI Al Huda demonstrates a "policy-driven" readiness, characterized by a strong managerial vision but hampered by infrastructural resource limitations. Conversely, Chariyathamsuksa exhibits an "opportunity-driven" readiness, excelling in material resources due to external partnerships but facing challenges in institutionalizing innovation for long-term sustainability. This study concludes that true technological readiness is a complex socio-technical phenomenon, requiring simultaneous attention to infrastructure, perception, and mindset to ensure that technology is not only adopted but also wisely integrated to strengthen the core mission of Islamic education in shaping a generation of noble character.
2025-10-12T15:48:14+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Habib Rachman Wafiq, Prawidya Lestari, Asiyah Aksornhttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4321Rethinking Legal Validity and Contractual Structures of Shariah-Compliant Credit Cards2025-10-12T16:24:09+08:00Muhammad Adib Alfarisiadibalfarisi19@gmail.comSuhedi Suhediazm9807@gmail.comSouad Ahmed Ezzeroualisezzerouali@du.edu.omDyah Andriantiandriantidyah@gmail.com
The rapid evolution of Islamic financial products has raised critical questions about the legal validity and practical enforceability of Sharia credit cards within Indonesia’s dual legal system. This study seeks to rethink the legal validity of Sharia credit cards by moving beyond the fiqh-based legitimacy of Fatwa No. 54/DSN-MUI/X/2006 to examine their implementation under Indonesia’s positive law, regulatory oversight, and the objectives of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. Employing a qualitative legal content analysis, the research identifies six potentially relevant contracts kafālah, wakālah, ḥawālah, murābaḥah, qardh, and ijārah and critically assesses why the DSN-MUI ultimately operationalized only three: qardh, kafālah, and ijārah. The study argues that this tri-contract structure provides normative coherence but remains legally contingent on its harmonization with the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI) regulations governing multi-contract products. Findings reveal that while the fatwa aligns with maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah protecting wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl) and promoting justice (‘adl) by eliminating riba its enforceability under civil contract law, particularly regarding ta‘wīḍ (compensation) and gharāmah (late penalty), remains ambiguous. Comparative insights from Malaysia and the Middle East underscore the need for a regulatory framework that integrates fatwa-based legality within codified financial law. Consequently, this “rethinking” offers a new analytical framework normative, structural, and positive legal validity to bridge the gap between Sharī‘ah doctrine and enforceable Islamic financial governance in Indonesia.
2025-10-12T16:22:48+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Muhammad Adib Alfarisi, Suhedi Suhedi, Souad Ahmed Ezzerouali, Dyah Andriantihttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4320Historical Consciousness of Hamka's Interpretation of Al-Baqarah Verse 261 and Its Relevance to the History of Educational Institutions in Indonesia2025-10-12T17:07:28+08:00Al-Faiz Muhammad Rabbany Tarmanmariya07july@gmail.comRidwan Maulana Safiiridwansafii484@gmail.comYusuf Rohmat YanuriS2748697@ed.ac.uk
Interpreter cannot help but be confined to a limited space and time in an effort to interpret the Qur'an. This research discusses the awareness of Hamka's historical influence in the interpretation of QS. al-Baqarah verse 261 and its relevance to the history of educational institutions in Indonesia. This research focuses on three things, namely the treasures of the interpretation of QS. al-Baqarah verse 261, Hamka's concept of education, and the history of national educational institutions that show Hamka's historical influence in the interpretation of the verse. This research uses the theory of “effective-historical consciousness” from Hans-George Gadamer. The conclusion of this research is, first, spending wealth in the way of Allah is not limited to jihad and hajj, but also all virtuous deeds. Second, Hamka has great attention to the field of education. Hamka's concept of education contains four important keywords, namely the function of reason, the integration of science and religion, the purpose of education, and gender equality. Third, before the existence of formal education in the form of schools, mosque, langgar and surau education were known. Then in the corridor of colonization of the archipelago, the Portuguese and Dutch colonizers established schools in the context of spreading religion and colonization. Meanwhile, during the Japanese colonization, the quantity of schools decreased. This limited number and quality faced by Hamka is one indication of the influence of history in Hamka's interpretation in Al-Azhar.
2025-10-12T17:06:15+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Al-Faiz Muhammad Rabbany Tarman, Ridwan Maulana Safii, Yusuf Rohmat Yanurihttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4317Implementasi Undang-Undang Nomor 33 Tahun 2014 Tentang Jaminan Produk Halal di Rumah Potong Hewan Ruminansia Kecamatan Medan Deli2025-10-13T03:09:04+08:00Teddy Syahputrateddy0204211013@uinsu.ac.idCahaya Permatacahayapermata@uinsu.ac.id
A Ruminant Slaughterhouse is a facility for slaughtering animals to ensure that the meat distributed meets halal requirements. Halal certification ensures that animals are slaughtered by halal butchers in accordance with Islamic law. This study aims to examine the implementation of Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance at Ruminant Slaughterhouses in Medan Deli District. The research method used is empirical juridical, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document studies. The research results indicate that the Halal Product Assurance Law has been implemented at Ruminant Slaughterhouses in Medan Deli District. This implementation is evidenced by the possession of halal certification and Juleha (Halal Butcher) certification issued by LPPOM MUI North Sumatra. However, the lack of transparency in the slaughtering process has led to public doubts regarding the halalness of both the slaughtering process and the resulting animal products. Therefore, increased transparency and supervision are needed to ensure that the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Law can be carried out comprehensively and gain public trust.
2025-10-13T03:07:58+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Teddy Syahputra, Cahaya Permatahttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3959Relevansi Pemikiran Syekh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari dalam Membangun Generasi Emas 20452025-10-16T11:41:50+08:00M. This approach is multidisciplinary, combining critical traditional methodology with anthropological, historical, and gender studies perspectives. This research systematically analyzes the chain of narrators (sanad) and content (matan) of key hadiths that are often potentially distorted, cultural biases, and the influence of socio-political interests at the time the hadiths were narrated and decodified. Furthermore, this research traces the historical roots of female circumcision practices in various ancient civilizations, including Egypt, Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula, to understand how this practice has evolved and adapted over time. A comparative analysis is conducted on the views of various schools of thought (mazhab) in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) regarding female circumcision, with the aim of uncovering interpretations and arguments that underlie these views. One of the main issues is environmental pollution in the Barumun River, caused by waste disposal from PT. Sumber Sawit Nusantara (SSN). This contamination has led to community unrest, as residents living along the river can no longer use the water for daily activities such as bathing and washing. To address this issue, the local government of Padang Lawas Utara implemented an environmental management policy through Regional Regulation No. 6 of 2016, which is analyzed in this study from the perspective of siyāsah dustūriyyah. This research employs a juridical-empirical approach, combining both primary and secondary data. The findings indicate that the management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3) has not been optimally implemented due to the lack of compliance with the regional regulation. This condition is exacerbated by insufficient education and socialization efforts by the government, particularly toward factory operators in Sionggotan Village, Simangambat District. Therefore, greater emphasis on environmental education, public legal awareness, and consistent law enforcement is essential to achieve sustainable hazardous waste management in the region.
2025-10-29T08:26:35+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Hilal Ramadhan Hsb, Iwanhttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4372Prinsip Ekonomi Syariah dalam Pengelolaan Sumber Daya Manusia: Studi pada Usaha Sabar Abadi Pondok Pesantren Syubbanul Wathon2025-11-14T14:43:18+08:00Akhmad Taufikakhmadtaufik076@gmail.comFuad Yanuar Ahmad Rifaiakhmadtaufik076@gmail.comQurotul Ainiakhmadtaufik076@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic economic principles in human resource management at Sabar Abadi Welding and Construction Business of Syubbanul Wathon Islamic Boarding School. As a result, ikhtilāf (juridical disagreement) may arise, potentially giving way to conflict. How, then, should a Muslim respond to ikhtilāf within fiqh al-‘ibādah? Yusuf al-Qaradawi has proposed a particular attitude toward dealing with ikhtilāf in matters of worship. This study seeks to explore the attitude recommended by Yusuf al-Qaradawi in addressing ikhtilāf within fiqh al-‘ibādah. To answer this question, a doctrinal legal research method was employed. The primary data source is his work al-Ṣaḥwah al-Islāmiyyah bayna al-Ikhtilāf al-Mashrū‘ wa al-Tafarruq al-Madhmūm. The findings indicate that there are six recommended attitudes for dealing with ikhtilāf in fiqh al-‘ibādah to prevent conflict: first, sincerity toward Allah (SWT) and detachment from personal desires; second, avoidance of fanaticism (ta‘aṣṣub), whether toward a teacher, a school of thought, or a group; third, maintaining good assumptions about others; fourth, refraining from blaming or finding faults in fellow Muslims; fifth, avoiding argumentative behavior and obstinacy in disputes; and sixth, engaging in dialogue through the best and most respectful means.
2025-11-15T16:05:55+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ilhamsyah Pasaribuhttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4419Problematika Konsentrasi Belajar Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam2025-11-17T11:49:00+08:00Muhammad Fauzan Nasutionmfauzan0301202038@uinsu.ac.idMahariahmahariah@uinsu.ac.id
This study aims to reveal the problems of student concentration in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) lessons at MTs Nurul Iman Tanjung Morawa and explore the causes and strategies teachers use to overcome them. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation methods, this study found that low student concentration is influenced by a combination of internal and external factors. Internal factors include low motivation, varying cognitive readiness, and unstable emotional conditions, while external factors include monotonous learning methods, limited learning media, and distractions from the environment and the use of gadgets. The manifestation of these problems can be seen through students' passive behavior, boredom, and difficulty in understanding and remembering the subject matter. Teachers play an active role in overcoming this through the application of varied learning methods, the use of visual media, the provision of motivation, and the creation of an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The results show that the implementation of Elsimil at the KUA of Kisaran Barat District has been relatively effective in reducing stunting rates, as indicated by a significant decline in cases following its implementation. Conceptually, this policy aligns with the objectives of Maqāṣid al-Syarī‘ah in achieving public welfare through the protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs) and lineage (ḥifẓ al-naṣl), and serves as evidence of the integration of Islamic values into modern public policy focused on family health.
2025-12-01T12:38:17+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Mashuri Lot Malau, Uswatun Hasanahhttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4455Perlindungan Driver terhadap Kebijakan Fitur Hemat Ojek Online di Kota Medan Perspektif al-Maṣlaḥah2026-01-08T03:06:46+08:00Nurul Miftahul Jannahnurul0204211016@gmail.comImam Yazidnurul0204211016@gmail.com
The implementation of the “hemat” (economy) feature in online ride-hailing services represents a digital promotion strategy aimed at attracting consumers through fare reductions. However, this policy creates systemic pressure on drivers, particularly regarding income and workload. A qualitative approach with an empirical legal design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 Grab and Gojek drivers in Medan City, as well as a review of Islamic legal literature and digital transportation policies. The findings reveal that most drivers feel compelled to activate the feature due to algorithmic pressure, resulting in decreased net income and increased working hours without adequate social protection. The al-maṣlaḥah analysis indicates that the feature does not fulfill the principles of shar‘ī benefit, as it fails to protect the drivers’ lives (ḥifẓ al-nafs) and wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl), and contradicts the principles of riḍā bi al-tarāḍī (mutual consent), the prohibition of gharar (uncertainty), and the legal maxim lā ḍarar wa lā ḍirār (no harm and no reciprocating harm) in Islamic business ethics. The recurrence of ethnic conflicts in Indonesia, such as those in Papua and Rempang, reflects a gap between Islam’s normative ideals and contemporary social realities. In this context, the research examines prophetic messages embedded in authentic hadiths that emphasize human equality regardless of race or ethnicity. Employing a thematic (maudhu‘i) approach, this study integrates both textual and contextual analyses of selected hadiths related to the principles of equality, solidarity, and the prohibition of tribal or ethnic fanaticism (‘ashabiyyah). To deepen the analysis, insights from the sociology of ethnicity and conflict are incorporated in order to construct a more comprehensive understanding of how these prophetic values are applied within the Indonesian social setting. The findings demonstrate that the Prophet consistently rejected all forms of ethnic superiority and upheld three central moral pillars of Islamic social ethics: equality, human solidarity, and social justice. These principles also serve as the foundation of wasathiyah, the Islamic doctrine of moderation characterized by balance, justice, and the rejection of all forms of extremism, including ethnic or tribal fanaticism, which may threaten social harmony. These prophetic values function as both spiritual and sociological mechanisms for preventing disintegration and strengthening social cohesion amid Indonesia’s cultural and ethnic diversity. The contextualization of wasathiyah and prophetic ethics within education, public policy, and intergroup discourse contributes to fostering religious moderation and developing a humanistic and inclusive Islamic interpretation that aligns with the realities of a multicultural nation.
2025-12-11T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ayu Gintari, Zulfahmi Alwi, M. Although the regulation aims to maintain public order and ensure road safety, roadside fundraising continues, especially for mosque construction and religious social activities. This study analyzes the implementation of Article 24 in Dusun binjai, Sungai Aur District, and examines the policy through the perspective of siyāsah dustūriyyah. The research uses an empirical juridical method with a socio-legal approach, employing interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that several factors hinder the regulation’s effectiveness, including low legal awareness, strong cultural traditions of mutual assistance, economic limitations, weak supervision, and insufficient government socialization. Many residents still perceive collecting donations on the road as an expression of social solidarity rather than a legal violation. However, supporting factors also exist, such as legal awareness among mosque administrators, the involvement of religious and local leaders, and the availability of legitimate fundraising mechanisms. From the siyāsah dustūriyyah perspective, the policy aligns with the principles of public welfare (al-maslahah al-‘āmmah) and the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah), particularly the protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs) and property (ḥifẓ al-māl). This study uses empirical juridical research with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and observations, as well as a purposive sampling approach to active drivers who use the InDriver application in Medan and its surroundings. The results show that the practice of canceling orders with an agreement between the driver and passenger to continue the trip outside the application system is done consciously as a form of tax and commission deduction avoidance. Informants stated that this action is done for economic reasons, limited balance, and the influence of the social environment of fellow drivers. Although it is acknowledged that this practice is not entirely ethical and contains elements of manipulation, it is still considered reasonable under certain conditions. From Imam An-Nawawi's perspective, honesty is a key principle in transactions. Actions to avoid established obligations, such as commissions or VAT, fall into the category of fraud and contradict Islamic values. Therefore, the practice of intentionally canceling orders is considered inconsistent with Sharia principles that uphold trustworthiness, justice, and blessings in seeking sustenance. This study recommends the need for ongoing Islamic business ethics education for online transportation operators, as well as more prudent government policies in setting VAT and commission rates that align with the socioeconomic conditions of the community, particularly for online motorcycle taxi drivers.
2025-12-11T14:06:13+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Albaraday, Rahmat Hidayathttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4544Ilmu Falak dalam Perspektif Filsafat Ilmu2025-12-16T01:28:35+08:00Bashori Alwialwi.alhasib@gmail.comSiti Muslifahsitimuslifah@uinkhas.ac.idMursyid Zainurimursyid.zainuri@gmail.com
This study discusses the integration of astronomy with the philosophy of science as an effort to position astronomy not only as a technical discipline, but also as a science with profound ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. Astronomy, with its objects of study being celestial bodies and their regularities, is integrated with philosophical values to ensure the validity of its calculation (hisab) and observation (rukyat) methods and its practical benefits for Muslims. Several problems, such as uncertainty about the nature of the objects of astronomy, epistemological conflicts between the hisab and rukyat methods, differences in determining the beginning of the Hijri month, and several other problems, all disrupt social order and create disharmony in community worship. This research is a library study whose data is primarily drawn from books and various scientific literature such as articles. Furthermore, all findings are analyzed and concluded qualitatively. Through a philosophical approach, astronomy can be developed critically, reflectively, and adaptively to the development of modern technology. This integration is expected to strengthen the holistic paradigm of Islamic science, bridge science and spiritual values, and encourage the creation of orderly and harmonious religious practices. The results of this study will form the basis for education, research, and policies for determining a more scientific and beneficial Hijri calendar.
2025-12-16T01:27:23+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Bashori Alwi, Siti Muslifah, Mursyid Zainurihttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4532Menilai Kesetaraan dan Akurasi Qibla on Compass Aplikasi Miqat terhadap Metode Azimuth Geodesi2025-12-27T13:26:54+08:00Andi Jusran Kasimjusrankasim@stainmajene.ac.idRahman Subharahmansyubha31@gmail.comFatri Sagitafatrisagita@stainmajene.ac.idNoercholis Rafid. The method used is quantitative observational, with measurements taken three times at each location using the Miqat application on various types of Android smartphones. The results of the analysis show a difference between the geodetic azimuth and Miqat with an absolute error between -0.7278° and 0.6523°, an average error of -0.19295° and a standard deviation of 0.1982°. Bland-Altman analysis showed that the difference between the two methods was within acceptable limits, with an upper limit (ULA) of 0.1956° and a lower limit (LLA) of -0.5815°. The TOST equivalence test showed an average difference of 0.193°, which was smaller than the tolerance of ±0.5°, so the two methods could be considered mathematically equivalent. This study concludes that Miqat is suitable for use as an aid in determining the azimuth of the compass qibla in controlled environmental conditions and with good magnetic sensor calibration.
2025-12-27T13:26:37+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Andi Jusran Kasim, Rahman Subha, Fatri Sagita, Noercholis Rafid. A, Maryam Uhttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4456Penafsiran Klasik tentang Hoax dan Relevansinya di Era Kontemporer2025-12-27T14:02:15+08:00Muhammad Aldimuhammadaldiii2705@gmail.com
The event of Hadîts al-Ifk—the slander against Ummul Mukminin ʿĀ’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her)—is one of the most significant incidents in Islamic history, containing profound moral, legal, and social lessons. This slander, recorded in Surah An-Nur verses 11–20, establishes ethical principles for Muslim society in rejecting false information without evidence. The main problem discussed in this study is the differences and similarities between Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi’s exegetical approaches to these verses, and how the values they convey remain relevant to modern social contexts marked by digital misinformation, hoaxes, and defamation. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive method using a library research approach. Primary data were obtained from Tafsir al-Qur’an al-‘Aẓīm by Ibn Kathir and Al-Jāmi‘ li Aḥkām al-Qur’ān by Al-Qurtubi, supported by secondary sources such as scholarly journals and classical tafsir studies. The findings indicate that Ibn Kathir applies a tafsir bi al-ma’tsur (narrative-based exegesis) approach, emphasizing historical and moral aspects—particularly the importance of tabayyun (information verification). In contrast, Al-Qurtubi adopts a tafsir ahkam (legal exegesis) approach, focusing on the normative principles of qadzf (prohibition of unfounded accusations) and husnuzan (positive presumption) as the foundations of social ethics. The study concludes that the Qur’anic values embedded in Surah An-Nur verses 11–20 remain highly relevant in the digital age, especially in addressing the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and online defamation. The principles of tabayyun, qadzf, and husnuzan serve as essential foundations for ethical communication and social law, aligning with the spirit of Indonesia’s Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE Law).
2025-12-27T14:00:22+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Muhammad Aldihttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4520Sago Festival Development Strategy through a Community-Based Tourism Approach in Sebangun Village, Sambas2025-12-29T16:21:17+08:00Hikmah Trisnawatihikmah.trisnawati@gmail.comNur Astri Fatihahnafatihah@poltesa.ac.idPahima Pahimapahimapima16@gmail.comRisa Risarisadanny@gmail.com
Since its establishment in 2021, the Sago Festival in Sebangun Village, Sambas Regency, has evolved into an annual cultural event that simultaneously celebrates local heritage and promotes community-based economic empowerment. This study aims to formulate strategic directions for enhancing the festival’s development within the framework of Community-Based Tourism (CBT), ensuring its sustainability and optimizing socio-economic outcomes. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, integrating field observations, in-depth interviews, and literature analysis. The collected data were systematically examined using the SWOT analytical framework. The findings indicate that the festival’s primary strengths include active community participation, well-established local branding, and the abundance of sago resources. Conversely, internal weaknesses consist of venue instability, declining sago tree availability, and limited promotional efforts. External opportunities—such as collaboration with governmental and academic institutions and the expansion of digital media—further enhance the festival’s development prospects. Drawing from these insights, five strategic directions are proposed: (1) establishing a permanent festival venue; (2) implementing sustainable sago cultivation programs; (3) strengthening digital marketing and destination branding; (4) fostering inter-village and stakeholder collaboration; and (5) enhancing youth engagement through cultural education and capacity-building initiatives. Collectively, these strategies emphasize the significance of participatory management and sustainable resource utilization in advancing cultural tourism. Accordingly, the Sago Festival represents a promising model for community-based cultural tourism development in Sambas.
2025-12-29T16:21:01+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Hikmah Trisnawati, Nur Astri Fatihah, Pahima Pahima, Risa Risahttps://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/4553Implementasi Undang-Undang Nomor 16 Tahun 2019 dalam Penanganan Permohonan Dispensasi Nikah di KUA Kecamatan Kaligesing2026-01-13T07:41:19+08:00Wafa Nabilahwafanabilah03@gmail.comWaluyo Sudarmajisudarmajiwaluyo.71@mail.comArifuat Marzukiarifanurmazida470@gmail.com
Law Number 16 of 2019 establishes the minimum age for marriage for both men and women at 19 years old. However, the practice of marriage dispensation still frequently occurs. The Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Kaligesing faces challenges in implementing this regulation, as it must balance national law with local traditions that still consider early marriage to be acceptable. This study aims to examine how Law Number 16 of 2019, which amends Law Number 1 of 1974, is implemented in handling marriage dispensation applications at the KUA of Kaligesing Subdistrict, Purworejo Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, based on data collected through field research as well as literature references. The findings indicate that the implementation of Law Number 16 of 2019 at the KUA of Kaligesing Subdistrict has been carried out effectively in both administrative and educational aspects. Nevertheless, social, cultural, and economic obstacles remain, leading to the continued occurrence of early marriages. A more holistic approach is needed through enhanced legal education, strengthening of religious and family values, and a reassessment of marriage dispensation policies to achieve the goal of child protection.
2026-01-13T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2026 Wafa Nabilah, Waluyo Sudarmaji, Arifuat Marzuki
