Historical analysis shows how mudarabah has adapted to the changing socioeconomic and financial regulatory challenges over time, as well as the evolution of its practice based on the principle of profit sharing and Islamic commercial ethics. The results of the study show that innovation and adaptation in Islamic financial products, including mudarabah contracts, have strengthened their relevance in the modern era, indicating significant growth in global Islamic banking. The main focus of the research is to analyze the transformation of Islamic thought and reform movements that have shaped the social, political, and intellectual landscape of modern Egypt. Through a historical-analytical approach, this research traces various important phases of reform, starting from the modernization of Muhammad Ali Pasha and the emergence of the Salafiyah movement spearheaded by Jamaluddin Al-Afghani and Muhammad Abduh to contemporary dynamics involving various actors and institutions. Research findings show that the Islamic renewal movement in Egypt has experienced significant evolution in response to the challenges of modernity, colonialism, and global socio-political changes. The main contribution of this research is a comprehensive mapping of the dialectic between tradition and modernity in the context of Islamic renewal in Egypt, as well as an analysis of its impact on the development of contemporary Islamic thought in the Muslim world. This research also identifies patterns of continuity and change in the reform movement, which can provide a valuable perspective for understanding the dynamics of Islam and modernity in the contemporary Muslim world.
Nurfitria Dewi, Ahmad Nizam, Aurman Aurman, Ummil Khairat Copyright (c) 2025 Borneo : Journal of Islamic Studies https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3503 Tue, 06 May 2025 00:00:00 +0000 ETOS KERJA DAN INSENTIF GURU PERSPEKTIF ISLAM https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3444
This study explores the evolution of the mudarabah contract from a historical perspective to its prospects for application in the modern banking system. This study uses an eclectic hermeneutic approach, which begins with a systematic process of data collection and separation. All collected data were then evaluated through several important elements, namely descriptive, interpretative, reflective, inclusive, and synthetic methods, to gain a deeper understanding of the object of study. The results of the study indicate that the language used in Friday sermons at Masjid Al-Amin is greatly influenced by the diversity of linguistic tools and their usage, as well as the variation in word types and sentence structures employed by the preacher. These findings were then compared with the views of logic experts on language structure, resulting in the conclusion that the language of Friday sermons at the mosque is a form of language play, namely religious language that has a special function in conveying moral and spiritual messages to the congregation. This study is expected to contribute to the development of the science of communication in preaching and serve as a reference for preachers in selecting and using effective language in conveying religious messages. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding the context and variety of language use in everyday religious preaching practices.
Fadli Syairil, Afriansyah Ade, Nurlina Nurlina Copyright (c) 2025 Borneo : Journal of Islamic Studies https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3612 Wed, 25 Jun 2025 09:14:32 +0000 ANALISIS PENERAPAN AKAD MUDHARABAH DALAM PRODUK TABUNGAN HAJI DAN UMROH PADA BTN SYARIAH KCPS KUDUS https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3769
Islamic banking in Indonesia has experienced significant growth, driven by increased public awareness, supportive regulations, and product innovations such as hajj and umroh savings. This study analyzes the application of the mudharabah contract in hajj and umroh savings products at BTN Syariah KCPS Kudus, focusing on compliance with sharia principles and economic effectiveness. Employing a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation, the study finds that the applied mudharabah muthlaqah contract complies with the DSN-MUI Fatwa, with a profit-sharing ratio of 45:55 and fund management through sharia-compliant instruments. However, low customer literacy and lack of transparency in fund management pose significant challenges. Economically, the product supports the growth of third-party funds (from IDR 3.8 billion in 2022 to IDR 4.5 billion in 2023), but the economic benefits for customers are less significant, as their primary motivation is hajj registration rather than profit sharing. The study recommends enhancing sharia education, transparency, and product innovation to optimize sharia compliance and economic benefits.
Fadilatur Rokmah, Wahidullah Wahidullah, Ahmad Fauzan Mubarok Copyright (c) 2025 Borneo : Journal of Islamic Studies https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3769 Fri, 27 Jun 2025 11:11:50 +0000 PEMBERDAYAAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM BERBASIS TRADISI NU DI PESANTREN KABUPATEN JEPARA https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3787
This study aims to analyze the empowerment strategies of Islamic religious education based on Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) traditions in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Jepara Regency especially on Ummul Quro boarding schools Pecangaan as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using triangulation techniques to enhance the validity of the findings. The results show that pesantren in Jepara have integrated NU traditional values into education through habitual religious activities such as tahlilan, manaqiban, yellow book (kitab kuning) studies, and moral education. Additionally, some pesantren have begun implementing economic empowerment programs through local-based entrepreneurship training. The main supporting factors for this empowerment are the strong local culture rooted in NU traditions and the central role of kyai in pesantren life. Identified inhibiting factors include limited infrastructure, a lack of professional educators, and low utilization of modern technology in the learning process. The study concludes that, despite the significant potential of NU-based pesantren in Jepara as agents of transformation in Islamic religious education, efforts to innovate curricula, strengthen human resource capacity, and optimize technology utilization are urgently needed to enhance empowerment effectiveness. Collaboration between pesantren, the government, and religious organizations is necessary to address these challenges and strengthen the contribution of pesantren to community development based on moderate Islamic values.
Amrul Adhim, Darnoto Darnoto Copyright (c) 2025 Borneo : Journal of Islamic Studies https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaisambas.ac.id/index.php/borneo/article/view/3787 Sat, 28 Jun 2025 04:39:12 +0000
