Islamic Axiology (The Function And Purpose Of Knowledge, As Well As The Interweaving Of Values Metacosm, Macrocosm And Inner Microcosm Islamic Religious Education)
Abstract
This research aims to examine Islamic axiology as a value foundation in understanding the functions and goals of science as well as the interweaving of metacosm, macrocosm, and microcosm values in Islamic religious education. Islamic axiology views knowledge not only as a rational means, but also as a means of worship, morality, and spirituality directed to achieve the pleasure of Allah SWT. This research uses the library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, namely examining various literature relevant to the philosophy of science, Islamic education, and Islamic cosmology. The results of the study show that in the concept of Islamic axiology, science has a function as a means of knowing Allah (ma'rifatullah), a guide to life and worship, a tool for building civilization based on divine values, and a link between reason, revelation, and charity. The main purpose of knowledge is to get closer to Allah, realize the benefits of the ummah, uphold social justice, and form noble morals. In addition, the intertwining of the values of the metacosm (divinity), macrocosm (universe), and microcosm (human) is the basis for holistic Islamic religious education. Islamic education not only transfers knowledge, but also instills the values of monotheism, morals, and human responsibility to realize knowledgeable, faithful, and noble human beings. Thus, Islamic axiology places science as a means to a balance between spiritual and material aspects, reason and revelation, as well as man and his God, so that science functions as a path to true happiness and universal benefit (rahmatan lil 'alamin).
