The Values Of Moral Education In The Novel Hafalan Shalat Delisa By Tere Liye

Abstract

Literary works play an important role in conveying Islamic moral education by presenting ethical values through characters, narratives, and life experiences. However, previous studies have rarely integrated literary analysis with Qur'anic verses, authentic hadith, and the interpretations of Islamic scholars. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the Islamic moral education values contained in Tere Liye's Hafalan Shalat Delisa and to interpret these values from an Islamic perspective. This study employed a qualitative descriptive design using qualitative content analysis. The primary data source was the novel Hafalan Shalat Delisa, while secondary data consisted of books, journal articles, Qur'anic commentaries, and other relevant scholarly literature. Data were collected through documentary study and analyzed through repeated reading, coding, categorization, and interpretation of textual evidence. The findings identified three major categories of Islamic moral education values: moral conduct toward Allah and His Messenger, including piety, sincerity, and gratitude; moral conduct toward oneself, including perseverance, responsibility, and discipline; and moral conduct toward fellow human beings, including tolerance, mutual respect, compassion, and caring. By relating these values to relevant Qur'anic verses, authentic hadith, and Islamic scholarship, this study demonstrated that Hafalan Shalat Delisa serves as an effective literary medium for strengthening Islamic moral education and character development in educational contexts.
