Archiving Policy

1. Digital Archiving and Preservation

Articles published in AL-SULTHANIYAH are continuously available through the Archives section on the official journal website, organized systematically by volume, issue, and year of publication. This digital archive provides readers, researchers, and legal practitioners with open access to all published volumes.

AL-SULTHANIYAH utilizes the Open Journal Systems (OJS) infrastructure to ensure the ongoing accessibility of its publication record. Information regarding additional third-party long-term digital preservation repositories (such as PKP PN, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or national digital archives) will be updated on the journal's archiving page as integration and verification are established.

2. Author Self-Archiving

AL-SULTHANIYAH permits and encourages authors to deposit the final published PDF version of their articles (Version of Record) in institutional repositories, subject-specific disciplinary repositories, academic social networks (such as ResearchGate or Academia.edu), or personal websites without any embargo period.

To ensure proper attribution and maintain the integrity of the publication record, self-archiving must adhere to the following conditions:

  • Permitted Version: Authors may only deposit the final published layout version (Version of Record) as rendered by AL-SULTHANIYAH.

  • Citation and DOI: Deposited files must retain all original branding, bibliographic information, copyright notices, and Creative Commons licensing details. Authors must include a complete formal citation and an active, working DOI link pointing directly to the official article webpage on the journal's site.

  • Post-Publication Updates: If AL-SULTHANIYAH subsequently publishes an official Correction Notice, Expression of Concern, or Retraction Notice, authors are required to update the metadata or documentation accompanying their self-archived file to reflect the updated publication status and provide a link to the official notice.

Author self-archiving enhances the global reach, visibility, and legal citation impact of published research while complementing the journal's digital preservation strategy.
