TRANSMIGRASI DESA SABUNG KECAMATAN SUBAH
Kondisi Sosial, Keagamaan, Budaya, dan Ekonomi (2010-2023)
Abstract
The transmigration program in Sabung Village, Subah District, Sambas Regency, which began in 2010, is part of the government's policy on population distribution and regional development outside Java. The presence of transmigrants brings changes in various aspects of the lives of the people of Sabung Village, from their arrival until 2023. The purpose of this study is to describe these changes, especially in the social, religious, cultural, and economic fields. The method used is a historical one with a multidisciplinary approach. The research was conducted through heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiographic steps. The results indicate that the social conditions of the transmigrant community in Sabung Village are characterized by social integration and community cohesion through mutual cooperation activities and participation in village social activities. From a religious aspect, community life can run harmoniously due to tolerance between religious communities and mutual respect in the implementation of worship and religious activities. From a cultural perspective, an acculturation process occurs between the local culture and the transmigrant culture, especially the Javanese culture, which is reflected in the use of language, traditions, arts, and community interactions. Economically, the agriculture and plantation sectors, particularly oil palm and rubber, are the primary livelihoods of the community, despite challenges such as limited infrastructure, market access, and uncertain land ownership. Therefore, the transmigration program in Sabung Village contributes to demographic change and shapes the social, religious, cultural, and economic dynamics associated with community life.
